It will be commemorated with a \nthanksgiving eucharist, presentation of the book \u201cAnnotations\u201d\n of the initiator of the Way and international manager, <strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello<\/strong>,\n and the Symphonic-Catechetical Celebration \u201cThe Suffering of \nInnocents \u201d\u2013whose music has been composed by Kiko himself\u2013 in the \nprestigious Berlin Philharmonic.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Thanksgiving<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The thanksgiving Eucharist will be \ntomorrow at 8 pm in the Cathedral of St. Hedwig, in Berlin-Mitte. It will be \npresided by Archbishop Msgr <strong>Heiner Koch<\/strong>, and concelebrated by Cardinal <strong>Paul Josef Cordes<\/strong>, and Archbishop emeritus of Madrid, Cardinal <strong>Antonio Mar\u00eda Rouco Varela<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Bishop <strong>Koch<\/strong> has expressed the desire to thank the Neocatechumenal Way for its 40 years of New Evangelization.<\/p>\n\n<p>Hundreds of people from all over Germany are expected to attend.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello presents his book &#8220;Annotations&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>With more than 35,000 copies of his book sold in various languages, \u201c<strong>Annotations<\/strong>\u201d is a collection of the author&#8217;s reflections, thoughts, poetry and sufferings between the years 1988 and 2014.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Kiko<\/strong> <strong>Arg\u00fcello<\/strong> will present the German version on Sunday at 16:30 at the Catholic Academy in Berlin.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Archbishop Emeritus of Madrid, Cardinal <strong>Antonio Mar\u00eda Rouco Varela<\/strong>, will again participate in the act, who will offer some insight to this work that has an epilogue by Cardinal <strong>Gerhard M\u00fcller<\/strong>,\n Prefect emeritus of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, who \npresented the work in Rome in November 2016. The book also has \nwith a preface by Cardinal <strong>Cordes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The preface to the Spanish version is from the President of the Spanish Episcopal Conference and Archbishop of Valladolid, <strong>Ricardo Bl\u00e1zquez P\u00e9rez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Cardinal <strong>M\u00fcller<\/strong> \nwrites in the epilogue that &#8220;the Popes have analyzed, accompanied and \npromoted the Neocatechumenal Way in several phases \u201d. &#8220;It was Pope <strong>Benedict XVI<\/strong>\n who, on May 11, 2008, granted their statutes the \ncanonical approval, thus recognizing the charism of the founders as \naction of the Holy Spirit aimed at spiritual edification and \nas a ministry of the Church and approving that path of evangelization of the \nworld and a new evangelization for baptized Catholics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;The &#8216;Annotations, 1988-2014\u2019, collected by <strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello<\/strong>\n and contained in the book, do not offer systematic reflections or \nfragmentaries on the themes of faith and theology. They are, instead,\n the testimony of an inner path of the soul and the efforts to \ngain trust in God as well as union with the crucified \nand suffering Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;But, how much good can be done with this book!&#8221;, The Cardinal also writes.<\/p>\n\n<p>In the preface, Cardinal <strong>Cordes<\/strong> assures that \u201c<strong>Kiko<\/strong>&#8216;s notes\n are not only a key to understand the Neocatechumenate, \nbut beyond this spiritual movement, they can represent useful \nincentives for the apostolate in general.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>The Cardinal adds that &#8220;the author in his \nAnnotations opens the depths of his soul \u201dand underlines that\u201c the charism that \nthe Holy Spirit has entrusted to the initiators of the Neocatechumenate, has been \ncontagious, by force of the same Spirit, to many others. In the \nmeantime, its diffusion is impressive \u201d.<\/p>\n\n<p>For his part, <strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello<\/strong>\n explains that he decided to publish his &#8220;notes&#8221; to &#8220;proclaim the \nglory of God, bearing witness to his free love and unconditional \nfaithfulness towards me that, as you can see, I am inadequate, \nunworthy, useless, unfaithful\u2026 \u201d &#8220;If these notes help someone, \nblessed be God \u201d, says the initiator and international manager of the \nWay.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Annotations&#8221; is the second book by <strong>Arg\u00fcello<\/strong>\n after the publication in 2013 of \u201cEl Kerigma, in the shantytown with the \npoor \u201d, translated into more than 25 languages \u200b\u200band with thousands of copies sold.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The Berlin Philharmonic hosts &#8220;The Suffering of the Innocents&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"227\" src=\"https:\/\/neocatechumenaleiter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Camino_Neocatecumenal_Kiko_Arguello_celebracion_sinfonica_berlin_40aniversario.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/neocatechumenaleiter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Camino_Neocatecumenal_Kiko_Arguello_celebracion_sinfonica_berlin_40aniversario.jpg 400w, https:\/\/neocatechumenaleiter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Camino_Neocatecumenal_Kiko_Arguello_celebracion_sinfonica_berlin_40aniversario-300x170.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>New York, Boston, Chicago, Auschwitz, \nMadrid, Paris, the Vatican, Israel, Tokyo or Fukushima are just a few \nplaces where the Symphony composed by \n<strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello<\/strong> himself, &#8220;The Suffering of the Innocents&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p>On this occasion, the musical work that \ndescribes the suffering of the Virgin at the foot of the cross, travels to \nBerlin, where it will be performed before 2,200 people at the \nprestigious Philharmonic.<\/p>\n\n<p>Rabbi <strong>David Rosen<\/strong>, \nDirector of Interreligious Affairs of the American Jewish Committee and \nHonorary President of the International Council of Christians and Jews, \nin addition to being in charge of relations with the Vatican and who has been \na direct witness of this music on several occasions, describes the work \nas a \u201crevolution in the relationship between Christians and the people of \nIsrael.\u201d <\/p>\n\n<p>It will be a very special event organized in the name of the Jewish-Christian dialogue, following the will of <strong>Pope Francis<\/strong>, who has expressed on many occasions the need to create bridges between the two confessions.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Of enemies\n and strangers we have become friends and brothers \u201d. &#8220;Christians,\n in order to understand themselves, cannot fail to refer to their Jewish \nroots, and the Church, while professing salvation through faith \nin Christ, recognizes the irrevocability of the Old Covenant and \nGod\u2019s unfailing, steadfast love for Israel.&#8221;, <strong>Francis<\/strong> stated during his visit to the Synagogue in Rome in 2016.<\/p>\n\n<p>With this Celebration \nSymphonic-Catechetical, victims of the\n Sho\u00e1, the Holocaust that ended the lives of more than 6 million \npeople at the hands of Nazism.<\/p>\n\n<p>Present will be numerous \nauthorities, including the aforementioned cardinals and again\n the Archbishop of Berlin, Mgr. <strong>Heiner Koch.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>A large number of \nJewish rabbis and believers who have shown their enthusiasm in contributing to\n the reconciliation between Christianity and Judaism.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Neocatechumenal Way has been revealed \nas a true instrument in this regard and among its initiatives,\n there have been two international meetings of rabbis and cardinals (2015\n and 2017) held at the Domus Galilaeae, located on the Mount of \nthe Beatitudes (Holy Land).<\/p>\n\n<p>The music of <strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello<\/strong>,\n which will be performed by the Neocatechumenal Way Symphony Orchestra formed by \n110 musicians and 90 chorus girls, is directed by the prestigious orchestra director, \ninternationally renowned <strong>Tom\u00e1\u0161 Hanus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The beginning of the Way in Germany, thanks to Benedict XVI.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>After the then <strong>Joseph Ratzinger<\/strong> (<strong>Benedict XVI<\/strong>) knew the Neocatechumenal Way through the responsible itinerant team, <strong>Toni and Bruna Spandri<\/strong>,\n in 1975, and shortly before he was appointed Archbishop of Munich, he showed \nonce again, his support expressing his &#8220;strong desire&#8221; that &#8220;this experience \ncan start in Germany.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p>Since then, the Way has spread throughout the different dioceses of the country.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The Way in the present<\/strong>\nThe Way emerged among the poor in Madrid (Spain) in 1964 through <strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello<\/strong> and <strong>Carmen Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, who died on July 19, 2016. Currently, the international responsible team is formed by <strong>Kiko Arg\u00fcello<\/strong>, <strong>Mar\u00eda Ascensi\u00f3n Romero<\/strong> and <strong>Father Mario Pezzi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is present in 134 nations of the \nfive continents, with 21,300 communities in 6,270 parishes, as well \nlike 1,668 families on mission that evangelize in de-christianized \nfrom the five continents, and with 120 \nDiocesan Missionaries <em>Redemptoris Mater<\/em> seminaries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Berlin, 06\/08\/2018 The Neocatechumenal Way will celebrate tomorrow, Saturday 9, and Sunday June 10, the anniversary of their 40 years of life in Berlin with various events.
