On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the current Gothic cathedral in Toledo, Spain, Spanish painter and composer Kiko Arg\u00fcello will present his symphonic work on Sunday, February 22, 2026, consisting of the compositions: \u201cThe Suffering of the Innocents\u201d and \u201cThe Messiah.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Now, on the occasion of the eighth centenary of the laying of the foundation stone of the current Gothic cathedral, Kiko Arg\u00fcello will present the work in a concert this Sunday, February 22, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free through the Puerta Llana until capacity is reached.<\/p>\n\n

The concert, which will be presented by Arg\u00fcello, will be attended by the Archbishop of Toledo, Francisco Cerro Chaves. It will be conducted by the internationally renowned maestro Tom\u00e1\u0161 Hanus, who has performed at venues such as the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Paris Opera, the Teatro Real in Madrid, and La Scala in Milan. Pianist Claudio Carb\u00f3 and choir director Abraham S\u00e1nchez complete the artistic cast.<\/p>\n\n

The performance will be given by the Neocatechumenal Way Symphony Orchestra and Choir, founded in 2010 and made up of around 180 musicians of various nationalities who offer their talent free of charge in the service of evangelization through music.<\/p>\n\n

With the Symphonic Work, Kiko Arg\u00fcello offers an artistic experience of great spiritual depth and aesthetic power, where music, faith, and beauty come together to offer contemporary man a musical meditation on the mystery of Christ and the hope of the Resurrection.<\/p>\n\n
