Rome, Italy, June 22-26, 2022

Dear Brothers,

On behalf of Kiko and his team, we inform you that on December 6, 2021, Cardinal Farrell sent a letter to Kiko Argüello, regarding the X World Meeting of Families, in which he requested to promote the voluntary participation of the brothers , following the guidelines set out below.

Neocatechumenal Center of Madrid

Orientation to prepare to the World Family Day

To the diocesan bishops, the priests and the lay faithful in charge of family ministry in the dioceses, parishes and ecclesial movements.

The Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life of the Diocese of Rome is organizing the X World Meeting of Families, which will take place from June 22 to 26, 2022.

The Meeting, as the Holy Father has underlined in the recent video message presenting the event, will take place in an unprecedented and multicentric way. Remaining, in fact, Rome as the designated main seat, in each diocese it will be possible to hold a local Meeting for families and communities, thus allowing everyone to be present

Therefore, the meeting will take place simultaneously:

  1. In the dioceses and/or in the parishes at the initiative of bishops, priests and families. Moments of reflection, retreat and celebration of families with the pastors can be held.
  2. Only a limited number of international delegates sent by episcopal conferences, movements and family associations will participate in Rome. The number of delegates has been communicated to the President of the episcopal conference, and to those responsible for international movements.

Below we present some guidelines and suggestions that the Dicastery and the Diocese of Rome have prepared in the hope that they can be of help to the particular Churches in the local organization of the meeting.
