Greeting of the Pope to the parish priests, itinerants and responsibles in Rome 12-04-1991
St. John Paul II
Vatican City – Paul VI Hall, December 4, 1991
As usual, the series of greetings concluded with groups arriving from various Italian dioceses.
«I am also happy to welcome the numerous adherents to the Neocatechumenal Way. Among them are parish priests from different European dioceses, community leaders and catechists traveling through many European nations and not a few families sent on mission in recent years.
Dearest brothers and sisters: with your presence in Rome, during the development of the special synod for Europe, you want to accompany the synodical works with reflection and the prayer. In the course of your convivence, which ends today, You have had the opportunity to reaffirm the need to host without delay Jesus’ command to take his Gospel everywhere. It’s about a mandate that current social and cultural circumstances make especially urgent.
May the Virgin Mary help you to continue the journey you have taken, always being faithful to Christ and his Church. In this way you will be tireless and joyful apostles of the New Evangelization ».
