I am grateful to the Lord for this event, which seals a long path of rapprochement and friendship between the Neocatechumenal Way and the Hebrew people, which began with Carmen Hernández on her trip to Israel in 1963-64, and which has been promoted by the Declaration “Nostra Aetate” of the Second Vatican Council in 1965.

The rediscovery of the roots of our elder brothers in the faith, favored by the Constitution Dei Verbum, which has affirmed the unity between the Old and New Testaments, and which the Neocatechumenal Way has put into practice for more than 50 years in the weekly celebration of the Word of God, has given birth to love for the Jewish people in the brothers of the Neocatechumenal Way.
